Derek Sloan Derek is a consulting associate with The Chelko Group. He has been with the Chelko Grouop since 2005. Derek brought a strong set of analytical and quantitive skills to our firm and puts those to use in a variety of research and analysis projects for our clients. While with our firm, he has developed expertise in the vendor selection process, preferred provider network analysis, medical claims data analysis, balanced scorecard production and analysis, plan design and underwriting.

• Led the selection and implementation of a medical third party administrator and preferred provider network arrangement for a company with 1,500 employees. The solution met all implementation goals and resulted in an estimated savings of more thatn $1,700,000 per year.
• Managed the selection and implementation of a medical third party administrator, preferred provider network arrangement and pharmaceutical benefits manager arrangement for a company with 1,700 employees. The solution resulted in an estimated savings of more than $1,500,000 per year.
• Evaluated and managed the transition of a company's retiree group from a fully-insured health care arrangement to a self-insured one. The move resulted in an estimated savings of more that $1,450,000 per year.
• Facilitated the design and implementation of a results-based wellness plan design, which resulted in a substantial increase in employee participation, engagement and health improvement.

Education and Professional Certifications
Derek received his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a Minor in Economics from Baldwin Wallace College in Berea, OH.  He also earned an MBA from Cleveland State University.   He is licensed in the State of Ohio for Life, Accident, Health and Annuities Insurance. Derek has been actively involved in the Cleveland Civic Leadership Institute.
