Dirk Raderstorf
Dirk Raderstorf is a consulting associate with The Chelko Consulting Group. Dirk's employee benefits career spans over 25 years during which he developed his passion for maximizing the value of health care benefits. His particular focus is on improving the overall health of plan participants resulting in a reduction in health care costs.

Sample Achievements
- Developed and implemented a new Population Health Management strategy for a large public sector employer by engaging the plan participants in their own healthcare through a creative incentive structure and comprehensive suite of products and services.
- Assisted the School Employees Health Care Board (SEHCB) during its first 2 years of existence (2005-07) resulting in the report to the governor recommending a best practice strategy, rather than a pooling strategy, for the public school districts in Ohio.
- Developed and implemented numerous plan changes to the benefit plans for a large public sector employer resulting in an annual average spend increase of 4.5% during 2006 and 2007 saving this employer over $40 million.
- Developed and implemented a new health management strategy for a private employer combining cost and health management strategies resulting in over $1.7 million in annual savings.
Prior Work Experience
Dirk was previously the Acting Benefits Administrator for the Department of Administrative Services for the State of Ohio where he was responsible for the strategic direction, implementation and daily operations of the benefit programs for the 60,000+ active state employees. He has worked in the public and private sector, holding management roles in benefits and Human Resources with several organizations, including The Ohio State University, Online Computer Library Center, Wells Fargo Insurance Services, The Columbus Dispatch, and John Alden Life Insurance Company. He previously also worked as a consultant/broker with Wells Fargo Insurance Services.
Education and Professional Certifications
Dirk received his Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resource Management and Accounting from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He was President of the Human Resource Association of Central Ohio (HRACO), Employers Council Chairperson for the Health Care Coalition of Central Ohio, and Founding Member and President of the Ohio Health Purchasing Alliance. He also was an active member on the local Certificate of Need (CON) Review Committee for Central Ohio.
